Gluck 20 QT Air Fryer Toaster Oven First Use Review

Gluck Air Fryer
My new Gluck Air Fryer

My microwave was behaving funny so I thought I should order a backup. I know this isn’t the same as a microwave but a lot of people prefer air fryers to them and I have never owned or used an air fryer before.

I did some shopping on Amazon and after watching some videos and reading some reviews and user comments ordered this

Soon it arrived and I began to unpack it from the shipping container and then read the instructions. I found a location in my kitchen that allowed ample space around the unit for proper airflow.

It will arrive with all of the accessories packed inside this space.

I took the accessories out and let the unit sit for 24 hours before installing the drip tray and running a short 15 minute cycle with no food inside. A small bit of odor but nothing strong or alarming was noticed.

The next day I went to my local grocery store and bought some items for my initial attempts and using an air fryer to prepare food.

Chung's Egg Rolls
Chung’s Egg Rolls

My first thing cooked was Chung’s Egg Rolls. These were my favorite brand that were available and I have always prepared them in my conventional oven in the past using a metal pan to bake them.

I sent the Gluck Airfryer for 12 minutes at 380 degrees and placed the frozen eggrolls on a wire rack about in the middle.

Here you see the eggrolls on a wire mesh rack with the drip tray installed in the bottom of the air fryer. A middle height selection was used for the rack. I did not turn the egg rolls over while they were cooking.

Here are the egg rolls done and cooling for 5 minutes before serving. They were nice and crispy on the outside and plenty hot on the inside. Next time I may raise the temperature up 10 degrees. I added just a little lowered sodium Kikkoman Soy Sauce to each one when I ate it and thought they were at least as good as the ones I had fixed in my oven in the past with a better, crunchy texture of the roll.

My initial review of this Gluck Air Fryer is good however I will need to cook some more items and gain more experience with it to say for sure. Look for more reviews here on my blog in the future and thanks for reading.

Tamarac by Slippers International 4 month review

I like having a pair of men’s camper moccasin type slippers for wearing around the house and short trips for errands. Winters aren’t that cold here in Florida but sometimes it’s nice to keep your feet warmer than being barefoot or wearing sandals.

These plush lined moccasins are great for slipping on and off bare feet. I bought them back in December and have been wearing them over the past four months, mostly indoors and without socks.

I wore out the pair of similar slippers I had before these which I think were purchased at Walmart. I don’t like going into stores so I shopped for a replacement pair on Amazon.

The cheaper slippers on Amazon had lots of poor reviews and comments about issues with the size. These were $44 which was more than I wanted to spend but had lots of high praise in the comments and 4.5 stars on the reviews.

I found the fit to be to size and the construction and materials to be good. I have been very pleased with them so far and would recommend Tamarac by Slippers International 7161 Men’s Camper Moccasin to others.

Propper Men’s STL II Pant – review

I saw a pair of these Propper Men’s STL II pants in my size on sale and bought them at the end of last year.  I’ve had a chance to wear them a couple of times and thought I’d share my thoughts about them.

Ordering and delivery via Amazon Prime was no issue.  The size is pretty true to what I ordered and they looked just like the illustration.

I like the wide belt loops and additional pockets on the legs.  I did find that the two front pockets aren’t as deep as I would like to hold my cellphone, but my cellphone is a Nexus 6 and is phablet sized.  A 5″ cellphone would fit just fine.  There’s always an option of using the pocket farther down on the leg.

I bought these pants as an alternative to wearing jeans.  I think for the sale price of less than $20 they were a good choice, but I don’t think I would pay full price for them.  If you shop on Amazon you may wish to check your size in various colors to see if you can find a pair at discount.

Propper Men’s Tactical Short – review

I bought these shorts about a month ago when I saw a pair in my size on sale for less than $20 delivered on Amazon.

They have been comfortable to wear and were true to size.  If I see a pair in a different color in my size go on sale again, I’d buy them again.  The belt loops are nice and wide, and there’s some reinforcing stitching on on the front pocket edges.  They look like they will hold up well over time.  The zipper in the front seems decent.

I don’t always stuff every pocket full of something, but it’s nice to be able to have your hands free when travelling or being active.  Here in Florida I wear shorts almost year round and it was time for me to replace a pair that had seen better days.
