More Devour Frozen Foods Reviewed

I’ve reviewed some of the frozen food products from Devour on my blog in the past. Their frozen lasagna and also the Angus Beef and White Cheddar Mac and Cheese entrees.

Here are a five more of the frozen food items from Devour that I have found and bought from my local Publix grocery store.

Devour Sweet and Tangy Pulled Pork

I liked the Devour Sweet and Tangy Pulled Pork and the Bourbon Glazed Sweet Potatoes also included. My favorite kind of BBQ sauce is the Mustard based variety and that’s what is used on this entree.

Devour Pesto Ravioli with Spicy Italian Sausage

I usually get pasta with red sauces but this was a welcome change and I liked it too! Devour Pesto Ravioli with Spicy Italian Sausage is another entree that I would buy again in the future.

Devour Chicken Cordon Bleu Mac and Cheese

The Devour Chicken Cordon Bleu Mac and Cheese was OK. Nothing bad at all about it but when you look down the list of entrees I’ve included in this post I wouldn’t list it at the top of the ones I’d buy again.

Devour Buffalo Chicken Mac and Cheese

Devour Buffalo Chicken Mac and Cheese IS one of the ones at the top of my re-buy list and I have enjoyed it many time. It’s a very quick and easy meal to prepare that has lots of tastes to savor.

Devour Pulled Chicken Burrito Bowl
Devour Pulled Chicken Burrito Bowl

Devour Pulled Chicken Burrito Bowl has all the good stuff inside a burrito on top of a bowl of rice instead. Honestly I’d rather have a good fresh burrito but for a frozen meal this one is pretty good. It’s tough to get a decent tortilla result from a frozen burrito that’s prepared in the microwave.

I’d encourage anyone to give the Devour brand foods a try and find their own favorites.

A review of some frozen lasagnas

Here are some of the frozen lasagnas that I have tried and my thoughts.

If you know someone who insists upon always making their lasagna from scratch, hug them after reading this blog post.

I don’t have time for that and like many folks buy frozen food instead. Here are some of the frozen lasagnas that I have tried and my thoughts.

Publix Lasagna with meat sauce
Publix Lasagna with meat sauce

Publix Lasagna with meat sauce was good and probably the lowest cost per serving of the ones reviewed here. I don’t remember how much I paid for it but I know I bought it because it was on sale. I’d buy it again on sale.

Devour Lasagna Alfredo
Devour Lasagna Alfredo

Devour’s Lasagna Alfredo with Bacon and Sausage tasted pretty good. I’m accustomed to lasagna with red meat sauce so this was a departure from my usual choice. I’m pretty sure I also bought this when there was a sale and mentally placed it on my buy again list after eating it.

I’m certain that I’ve had a couple more varieties of frozen lasagna that aren’t listed here, simply because I forgot to take some pictures of the boxes. My favorite brand of frozen lasagna is Stouffer’s.

Stouffer's Lasagna Bake with Meat Sauce

This Stouffer’s Lasagna bake with meat sauce is pretty good and similar in taste to their regular meat lasagna in a square container with cheese on top. I would say it’s my standard “frozen lasagna go to” when I’m shopping the frozen food aisle at the grocery store.

The top pick on my list of frozen lasagnas is also from Stouffer’s and it’s their Meat Lovers variety. Delicious!

Devour Frozen Foods Review

I tried out some of the frozen foods from Devour that I saw at my local grocer and here are my thoughts about the ones I tried.

Lasagna Alfredo with Bacon and Sausage

I’m used to eating lasagna with a red meat sauce, so this was a nice switch up.  The flavors of the Applewood Smoked Bacon and Italian Sausage went well with the creamy alfredo sauce.  570 calories with 330 coming from fat was delicious.  This is a single serving sized container but nothing says that you have to eat all of it at the same time.  I found it to be rich and good.  I would buy it again.

Angus Beef with Cornbread

This was my favorite of the three Devour foods that I tried.  The beef was covered with a sweet and smokey sauce.  The cornbread was made with jalapenos and had a nice and spicy flavor.  It had 750 calories with 310 coming from fat.  I actually wished that the serving size was twice as much, that’s how tasty it was.  If I see it in the store again, I’m buying more than one of these again.

White Cheddar Mac & Cheese with Bacon

This was good but it was also the one out of three that I tried that I liked the least.  It’s not that it tasted bad, it just wasn’t as good as the other two.  It was cheesy and the bacon taste was nice.  If Bacon Mac & Cheese is your thing, you should still give it a try.

The product page at Devour shows many more in addition to the ones I bought at Publix, and I hope to be able to try the others at some time and review them as well.  Happy eating!
