Jimmy Dean Breakfast Bowl – Sausage

Sometimes I skip eating breakfast to save some calories but when I want to eat a breakfast quickly at home, I like a Jimmy Dean Sausage Breakfast bowl.

It’s ready in about 4 minutes and besides tasting pretty good, the portion is sized right to satisfy without making me feel too full.  This variety lacks the Bacon that’s found in the Meat Lovers version, but it has an ample amount of sausage and cheese.

I will typically buy 2 or 4 different kinds of these at the grocery store at the 2 for $5 price.  A cup of coffee and this with a squirt of hot sauce added is how I start many of my days.

Breakfast in about 3 minutes.  That’s about how long it takes for me to start a cup of coffee brewing in my Keurig K Cup machine, and then grab one of these Tennessee Pride Jumbo Sausage and Buttermilk Biscuits and pop it into the microwave for 90 seconds.

The coffee machine finishes with it’s spitting, wheezing sound and fills my kitchen with the aroma of fresh made coffee.  The microwave heats the biscuit and the plastic bag it’s wrapped in makes a satisfying pop sound from the expanding steam.  Beep beep!  I wait a minute so as to not burn my fingers as I add a squirt of yellow mustard to my biscuit.

It’s not the best breakfast I could make, but it’s fast and the portion size is just right for me.  One of these large biscuits is enough by itself to hold me over until lunch time.  Tennessee Pride also sells some smaller biscuits by I have to eat multiple ones, and I feel like the bread to meat ratio isn’t as good as the jumbo sized product.

If you like sausage biscuits and aren’t against microwaving something frozen for breakfast, I’d suggest you look for these at your grocer and give them a try.
