Turbo Tax deals for last minute filers

I don’t know if there’s an official “Procrastinators Day” but when it comes to taxes, it may as well be April 14th, or whatever the day before the day that your taxes must be filed.

Due to the Emancipation day holiday this Friday, April 15th, most US taxpayers will need to file by the end of Monday, April 18th.

One of the advertising partners for my blogs is Turbo Tax, and that’s also what I have been using for years with great results, to prepare my own taxes.  I started entering data into mine earlier this year as documents showed up in the mail or became available online, and I will finish and file mine using it by the end of Monday.

If you are in a similar position, I have included the latest deals and offers from Turbo Tax for your consideration.  Using a link from this page to go to their website and then use their services may result in a small commission for me.

No health insurance = tax penalty?

Most of the time people call it Obamacare.  Sometimes ACA or Affordable Care Act.  One of the related topics of discussion that I frequently hear is concern from folks who don’t have medical insurance coverage through work, and don’t already pay for it on their own, about how much of a fine or penalty they may have to pay.

The way that is calculated is based on your income, so it makes sense that the folks at TurboTax would create a tool to help people check and see how it applies to their particular situation.  You can access that tool by clicking the link below.

Turbo Tax is on sale this week at Amazon.com

I’ve been using Turbo Tax to prepare my taxes for years now, and have been very happy with the ease of use, and results.  I just noticed that it’s on sale over at Amazon.com

I can’t really say how it compares to other tax preparation software, as I quite frankly haven’t used any of the others ones lately.  I know that for folks who have pretty simple returns, there are online versions of various different software products, that will allow you to file for free.  It’s  hard to beat free.

On the other hand if you have a lot of stock market trades, or the need to fill out multiple worksheets and account for different deductions and credits, using a more featured version is probably worth it in time and effort savings.

So do your comparison shopping now, and if you are interested in Turbo Tax this might be of benefit to you.  I always like to start my return in January as the first tax documents start showing up in the mail, and spend a little time in multiple occasions entering them, rather than saving it all up and waiting until the deadline to tackle the chore.
